04 F150 Trade In for 250 Q's
I'm going to bite the bullet and take a loss and trade in my 04 F150 SB for a F250 5.4L, either a supercab or a crewcab.
I don't want to trade in 1 problem truck for another. I just can't make myself go with something other then a Ford even with the issues I've had on my 150. Anything I should keep an eye/ear out for when taking this puppy for a test drive? Probably going with the 3.73 LS. Hope they don't have some of the same issues the 150's have had with whine, vibration, etc.
Have the torqshifts been all that troublesome? Is it worth getting? I'll mainly be using the truck to haul and pull a 2H WW trailer.

If your doing any kinds of hauling or towing I would look into a diesel. You would be way farther ahead in the long run to, cause they will last along time. And when your bored with power throw a chip in there and it will run 13.5secs in 1/4. Not bad for just a chip. Also you can get chips and set them for tow mode that will make towing even nicer.

You also cannot get a 3.73 rear with the 5.4. It'll be a 4.10.
5.4 won't be bad if it's just a light hauler and people mover. Don't expect to get great MPG either.
You cna do the diesel route but it's not always the best choice for everyone. I love mine, but I also use it, at least for towing, and road trips. Oh, and the occasional launch buring both rear tires though 1st and 2nd. (very rare though )

Thanks for the info.
I don't do a bunch of hauling so I can't justify the extra for deisel. I ended up trading for a 250 5.4L CC Lariat, I swear it has 3.73LS gears not 4.10 but I'll double check.
I'm in love again. This is so much nicer then my 04 vibrating F150. The 250 just has a tougher look then I like. Wish it had the cab lights but its a factory option and dealers wont touch it. I can leave without em I guess.
