Inverter Installation

I have a MPI300 300W Monster Inverter that the dealer so nicely removed from my trade in. I didn't install it there and want to install it in the new 250. There are 3 connections that they used. Power, Ground and Remote. I assume remote is something that will turn it off when ACC is off to save the battery?

I have no idea where to runs the wiring too. Power and Ground directly to the bettery? what gauge wire? and were do I run the remote lead too? Unfortunately the folks that installed it didn't leave the install dirs that it came with.

It's manually going to be used for small stuff like and occasional laptop, light, game console perhaps, etc. At least I got my head unit installed myself. What a pain. There's no D.Din Metra kit that's really correct yet. The F150 kit worked with some mods and hair pulling but I got it done and I saved $175 and another $50 on the sirius install.

I would run the power to the battery. I would allso find a good ground somewhere close to the mounting point, no need to go all the way out to the battery for the ground. You are correct in asuming the remote needs to be something on the AC. You can run a fuse tap in to one of the fuses for the radio or something like that that only comes on with the key. Check your fuse list for this and find a good one.

Try connecting it to the red wire from the radio you installed. As you might remember the yellow was for the battery the black was for the ground and the red was the ACC 12v line that gave it power from the ignition. That does require you to pull the dash again and knowing how much of a pain it was you may opt not to do it.

I would do it. I thought about something like that. Is the wiring size ok since it's a small inverter 300W?

Not sure about the wiring size. You may have a point though.
