5.4 and six speed

Does anyone here have a 5.4 gas burner with a six speed manual in quad cab and 4-wheel drive? If so how is the power and torque? does it tow good? Hows the gas millage? Also would you reccomend a manual trans in such a big truck with a small motor, or is the auto fine? thanks slot.

I have 2004 SD Crew FX4 with the 5.4 and the 6-speed. I pull a 21 ft bass boat with it on occasion, and never have any troubles. If you are going to be towing stuff that's large enough to require a fifth wheel or something like that, I would probably get the V-10 or a PSD. But, as far as driving around town with no load it does a good job, it's got a little pep. Don't know about the automatics and the 5.4, never seen one in an F-250. Gas mileage is OK. I get about 14 MPG (mostly city driving) now that the motor has broke in a little.
