Is that $1300 in foreign currency or US? The 6.0L is somewhat similar for injectors to the 7.3L. New 7.3L injectors run around the $200 each range, more if they're true new Alliants instead of remans. To replace them you need to pull the intercooler tubes, then the valve covers and then start to work on pulling the injector. You also need to make sure that when you pull the injector that all the oil gets out of the cylinders or else you can hydrolock the motor which gets VERY expensive. If you're having a Ford tech do this then it can get expensive since right now going rate can be anywhere from $60/hr to $100/hr. A VERY VERY good diesel tech familiar with the HEUI injection system can swap an injector properly in a couple hours. Unfortunetly there aren't many Ford techs like that in existance anymore so Joe Blow tech without much diesel experience is gonna take substantially longer.

Wow, even super high end performance injectors (400cc+) aren't even close to that expensive. You can get a set of 8 for around $4000 for a 7.3L, 6.0L would be around there, but they don't have that big of an injector for them......yet. The labor rate is terrific if they're billing 8hrs for $300. I just got my service truck fixed today and the going rate for diesel techs where I'm working at in Mississippi right now is $75/hr. So for 8hrs that would be $600 in labor alone. A retarded monkey with a wrench sticking out its *** could do it faster than 8hrs. I'm assuming that its the overseas shipping along with tarriffs that is driving the injector cost so high. Whole thing is, this should be covered under your 5yr/100,000mi warranty. If you're under 36,000mi on the truck then it should be a free repair. If you're over 36,000, but under 100,000 then it should cost you the $100 deductable.
