285-75-16 an 4.56 gears

Just wondering, I have a 97 f150 4x4 with a 3" body lift and 35" bfg at. I upgraded to 4.56 when i lifted it and put on the bigger tires. Now I want to go down to 285-75-16, Is this a good idea or will my gears be to low for this? I dont do much hyway driving but when i do its 75mph. 99% of my driving is city driving.

Don't plan on your mileage improving any. With that ratio and tire size you're looking at almost 2500rpm at 75mph. Just for comparison a stock truck with 3.55 gears and stock 255/70/16 tires is 2000rpm @ 75mph. For just city driving it may not be too bad, but it'll go through all the gears pretty quick.

0-45 would be, by 60 you're going to start running out of top end, but its been awhile since I've driven my 4.6L. Let me put it this way, its not exactly an ideal setup and not something I'd want to run myself. Also I'm not really sure how this even fits into the F250+/Diesel forum instead of in the TIRE forum.
