water in gas?

Ok I have not had my F-250 very long and have heard about some sort of water in tank icon that will eventually come on with the diesel trucks. Well, my instrument panel chimed and then a message came on saying there was "water in gas". Is this the same thing or did I just get bad diesel and is this something I need to worry about? The message did not stay on long and has not come in since. I am aware that there is some sort of water release somewhere on the truck that needs to be emptied on occasion but have no idea where it is. Any help?

Thanks guys
Scott

It said gas? On the 7.3s the water seperator is part of the bowl the fuel filter sits in. And I drain mine at the fuel filter replacement.

My "Water in fuel" light also came on yesterday. Click this link for the procedure http://home.austin.rr.com/sbv1/Proce...ater-drain.htm

Keep in mind that if that does not fix it, there is a TSB out for the 6.0L where wires rub together at the HFCM causing false water detections. Since you own a diesel you might want to start getting in the habbit of calling it fuel, not gas.
