Can you lift and still use a gooseneck?

Hello all,
I was speaking with my dad earlier, and he said he was interested in installing a 6in on his F-350. However, he is worried that he won't be able to haul a 5th wheel, or a horse trailer with a gooseneck. Since I don't have any experience using goosenecks, I figured I'd ask here.

Can it be done, or not?

It can be done. It depends on the trailer and what hitch setup you use.

It can be done. Usually the Gooseneck itself (not the hitch) is adjustable in height, and usually you can have the trailer lifted also.

As was said already the GN is more forgiving since the trailer "stinger" is usually adjustable. But the 5er will be a PITA, usually about 4" lift is the max the 5er's. will tolerate. I have heard of some 5er trailers hitting the bed rails on a stock 350 which has 4" blocks in the springs. The owners have had to remove the 4" 1 ton blocks and install 2" 3/4 ton spring blocks. So it depends a lot on the trailer.
