I take the truck in and get an oil change, transmission flush, colant flush, and fuel filter changed. They are the first things I be doing. Have Ford look over any other problems they might see.

Save yourself the stealership fees for workin on diesels and do the oil and fuel filter yourself.

Super easy...

Before you do all of that get some coolant test strips from your local Navistar dealer. Test the coolant to make sure the levels had been maintained. This will give you an idea of the care taken before you bought it. After you know then flush the coolant and make sure you recharge the system with SCAs. Aside from that pull the front and rear diff covers and change that fluid out. If it has a limited slip in the rear make sure that you add friction modifiers. Beyond that for mods first is a set of gauges (EGT, boost, and trans) then an intake, exhaust, and THEN a chip.
