Delayed Oil Pressure

My '03 PSD runs very well. It has nearly 40k on the clock. I have recently noticed that it takes about 5 seconds for the oil pressure gauge to show pressure.

Is this normal? Once it builds pressure, it seems to do so very quickly. That is, the needle sits there doing nothing. After the 5 seconds, bam! It shoots up to the normal operating pressure.

Is this something I should be concerned with?

Thanks.

Normal. Engines, gas or diesel don't produce oil pressure the instant the engine starts. The oil has to get circulating through the system.
