6.0 PowerStoke Programmer Help!

My dad has a 2003 6.0 PS and I was wanting to purchase a programmer for him. Any Ideas which work Best on these Engines? I have an Edge Evo on my 2006 F150, but don't know anyone running diesels. Any advice? Thanks Fella's!

It doesn't work. Try innovative diesl or innovative custom tuning in a search . I have heard that the SCT excalibrator II is the best and it doesn't kill the check book like the Bank's.

right now everyone is lovin the SCT Xcal2, it doesnt kill the check book or the tranny, and can be custom tuned to whatever you need. check out thedieselgarage.com they have everything you want to know about tuners. but if you get a tuner, a new exhaust system, intake, and gauges are highly recommended just fyi.

Superchips

I programmed my 2003 6.0 with a Superchips. Suposedly adds 125-150 hp on the "High Performance" setting. I checked milage between the +90hp "Economy" setting and the +150hp High performance setting and could not tell the difference on plain highway cruising.

The bad thing about the Superchips is that it does not have custom settings, such as adjustable shift points. It just adds a high performance program to the tranny. Also does not adjust speedo for taller tires. It does erase the speed limiter. The speedo just falls to zero while cruising at speeds over 105 mph, then jumps back to correct speed when I slow down below 105 mph.

I am adding MBRP cool duals and AFE Stage II air intake this week. These should help power and mpg.

Cheers

Superchips

I just installed the Superchips Flashpaq. This programmer will allow for tire size adjustments and has three tunes as well. It also has internet updateability. The performance tune is plenty powerful while not quite as strong as the other Superchips programmers. However, as far as I know this is the only one that currently will allow for tire size adjustments.

Not to rain on your parade, but please tread carefully with tuners on your 6.0 liter. This is not your F150, if you're under warranty and you run into any engine or drivetrain related problems, you will likely get shut out for warranty coverage if you're running a tuner.

Quintin

That is understood on my end and have no problem taking responsibility for my upgrades. Quinton is right as there are head gasket issues when chipping the 6.0's so do your research when making that decision. That goes for air intakes as well.
