Rebuilding salvage titled f250?

I am thinking about rebuilding a salvage f250. It has only been stolen, and needs stuff like carpet, bumbers, seats, mirrors, ect. Before I buy it I need to know what is involed in getting it titled. The one I am looking at it in texas and I am in flordia. Let me know if anyone knows anything. If I get it I'll post the progress, with pictures so you guys can see it come together.

Thanks

Chances are it would be titled as a salvage vehicle, which means that you probably won't be able to get a loan on it. Insurance will probably be tough too.

If its anything like PA its not an easy task to put a salvaged vehicle back on the road because of inspections. You need to go through alot of paperwork and keep maticulous records of what the condition was when you got it, what needed fixing, and what was done to fix it. Lots of pictures help alot too. Once all thats done it needs to be checked out thourghly by an inspector and then it gets a rebuilt vehicle title and insurance is always higher with that. Florida might not be as bad, but be prepared for alot of red tape and headaches. Usually its only worth it in states with no inspections at all.

I understand from my brother-in-law that there's a way to "wash" the title. Something about getting the title in AR then transferring to whatever state you like. Anybody else heard of this?

Yes, it happens all the time, which is why you Carfax a vehicle before you buy it.

On top of being completely illegal. Texas is famous for "Washing" titles.
