Plastic hook, what is it for???

What is the plastic hook for (~1 inch wide), that is on the lower right side of the dash between the cig. lighter and the glove box? It has two small black screws holding it into place. Looked in the manual and there is no mention of it.

Its known as the mystery hook, nobody has really ever found out its intended use. Only the Ford engineers know the answer to that one.

It holds your plastic grocery bags and keeps them from sliding all over the truck. Also some under the rear seats in the crewcab when you fold up the bottom part. The front hook is also idea for hanging a hat on.
