05 PSD vs 06 PSD

Folks I need some help....I have decided to get an F250 PSD, to be used as an everyday driver and my TV. This past weekend towing my 6K# TT was the last straw. I cannot keep up with traffic on slight grades. Had my rig weighed with truck at a CAT Scale...came in at 11860 LBS.

My question to you gurus...are they any reasons to avoid the 05's? I had seen some issues that were worked out in 05....the 06's are still out of my budget and some are still selling new with what is left in inventory.

I have recently bought the Troyer tunes with an XCAL2 for my 150 and while it is great, it is not what I need to pull with confidence, gas milage, power, speed, damange to truck in the long run.

I have been seen 05's with under 30K miles for around 30K in the Lariat models with Tow Command. When did Tow Command come out?

Thanks...and beware, your posts will make me ask more questions.

Any fears I should have if any with buing a used 05 PSD?

thanks guys

i found a 06 with 5K miles on it today, King Ranch listed for 34K

Is that a good price?

It's a hair out of my budget but I think I can get them to come down a bit.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the posts guys...went to look at the truck...its impressive....the price is a little different than what I saw online...shocker eh?

Net is...after TTL, Trade I will be out the door with 2K down and paying 34. Still think this is ok?

Details:
10K miles
06 King Ranch, Dark Copper
Tow Command with Aux Power
back up sensors, rear slide glass
6 disc changer
4X4
no bed liner
Truck is really clean...seats look "weathered" but I was told the King Ranch is supposed to look like that.

Just looking for a good finance rate at this point....should get the truck on Friday.

Still a good deal?

Congrats!

Here is how your king ranch seats should look. I keep mine conditioned to avoid that weathered look.

I hear ya on the home link, note my old school garage door clicker on the visor in the pic.

Wow, mine don't look like that and my eyes are killing me from looking at so many posts on conditioners....

Do you use the KR brand?

All I know is McGquires...is that bad on KR?

Yours look great, mine look weathered. Could I get them back to new like the back seats???

When I first got my truck I used a warm damp microfiber cloth to wipe the seats down, then after they dried I used meguiars (step 2) aloe conditioner, and have been using the meguiars ever since. I did just order 2 bottles of the king ranch leather conditioner and have it sitting here on my desk to try tomorrow. The king ranch brand conditioner has a leather smell to it v/s the clean smell of the meguiars, so I think I will be using the king ranch brand from now on to keep the leather smell.

I have never dealt with any other king ranch seats other than my own, but I would think when you apply some conditioner it should darken the seats up a bit. I had a tiny scratch from a belt buckle on one of my rear seats and some conditioner fixed it right up.

The info tag that was on my seats said to condition 2 times per year, but I do it every month.
