Remote starter for diesel?

Can a remote starter be wired up to a diesel? Having never owned a diesel I have always heard about preheating glo-plugs or something like thatwhen it's cold.

Yup. Most remote starts have a diesel mode that will allow the glow plugs to warm up before cranking. I put them in diesels all the time.

I don't know how to post them on here!! You could have seen me trying to park it at Verizon Mobile on Tilton Road Friday. Had a heck of a time in that small, tight parking lot. Large hood and small turning radius. It has back-up sensors but I haven't had to use them yet nor do I know how they work.

Gentillini's is installing the remote starter on Wednesday.

The remote starter is installed. All starts have a 30 second pause for the glow plugs to warm up because the starter doesn't know when it's cold.

One drawback I don't like. It will only run for 10 minutes before shutting down. The dealership can increase the time to 15 minutes. I was hoping for 30 minutes of run time to get the cab warm and to melt the snow and ice on the windows.

But remember that this is a Ford item that is installed by Ford Techs. It is not an aftermarket item like the one on my F-150.

Nice congrats. Yeah have Ford change it to 15 minutes..... Where you from again? I live like 3 minutes from the Virezon on Tilton Road, it is really tight in that parking lot....

I'm in Oceanview just outside Sea Isle. There isn't any Verizon dealers down here so we go to the one on Tilton.

I don't think that will happen. Brew got pretty pissed when I posted a map of his neighborhood from mapquest.

It wasn't a nasty PM, I was just asking you to take the map out of the thread. I didnt think it was cool to post a map to my house. It's no big deal really, I mean if someone wanted to find me I'm sure there are better ways than looking here to find my address. But again its just not something I wanted posted all over the site, thats all. I was probably more freaked out about than I was pissed. It's over, no one came to my house trying to kill me so its all good. I'm not, nor was I really ever pissed ( to much anyway )

Didnt think I'de see this did you? I've got ppl watching my back on here

No problem, the beer is always cold. I have a fridge dedicated to "cold beverages"
