Wow, talk about your "forum dog-pile" Like I said on my post. Not defending anyone here, this site is a lot more tame than most and 95% of the posts here are meant for helpful information rather than hurtful. Hey the pics are what they are...cannot change that. I for one would want my cab off if I had issues and it meant doing it right vs putting JB Weld and duck tape on it.

If you want to see some funny posts, just head over to RV.net and check out the posts there. Everyone of them ends up with oh yeah, my ford is better than your Chevy and then the cycle of life continues.

Graceann...sorry you are offended. It wasn't me but lets not sweat the small stuff. As told in Stripes..."lighten up Francis"

PS...doesn't matter what you drive, they all have issues.

Do you think this is a first? I have noticed pictures of the cab off the frame for repairs for several years on the net. Guess what... I bought an F250 anyway.

I don't see what that changes? All you have proven is that one person doesn't care.

The point of the post was to point out that SOME people, not all, would stumble across a post like this and take it the wrong way. I think she has a point that it was irresponsible of the mechanic to post it in the way he did without explaining that it is normal, common practice, and not a "problem" to do a cab-off repair.

Still nice to know, and information the common person should not be deprived of. It may be 'common practice' for cab removal in these trucks and I knew that going into my purchase as well but once these things are out from under warranty I'm sure there is quite a hefty price tag with the 'common' pratice of pulling the cab.

You completely misunderstood my post. I was pointing out the fact that just because he claims he saw a pic of a cab-off and he still bought a truck only proves one thing, that HE didn't care.

My whole point was had he explained that removal of the cab was part of Ford's design for certain repairs and with experience it should take less than and hour for removal then I would not have had a problem. I know about the removal as I said before my father and husband both build these trucks. I also know there is no room under the hood of this truck for anything else much less a mechanics trying to work on it. Most of these trucks are bought for pulling be it for work or fifth wheels. When these people purchase these trucks they sure don't want to have them setting in a shop for repairs, but to have to wait a full day for the removal of the cab before work begins is an even bigger turn off. Being a Ford I would still buy the product, most would probably walk away. All he had to do was explain.

I highly doubt it, trust me, in this employee driven market, employers step very carefully in order to keep employees, especially tradesman in northern Alberta

I think it's awesome that the cab comes off so easy. I have a 14' ceiling in my garage. I could see hoisting the cab off in 20 years to do a full restoration.

http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...d/19721937.cfm I guess you don't have to remove the cab in some repairs.

Way Cool pics! It reminds of when I was a boy putting together semi-tractor models from AMT and Monogram!

No I didn't get reprimanded or anything like that. This thread became a bit of a circus, in which I wanted no part so I deleted the pics and my posts. I thought the pics were interesting but apparently I was on a public smear campaign costing people their jobs and such. So now as NVRENUFF said "This pointless thread needs to die..."

Be sure to watch for my next thread: "Oh No! The sky is falling!"
