Very nice.

We are looking at upgrading our 2000 F250 with an '08. I am back and forth on the diesel though, I'm thinking I'll stick with the V-10 instead to save 6 grand. I'm planning on getting the red single tone FX4 supercrew with the all black cloth interior. My big dillema is for a short bed or a long bed.

How is the ride compared to the F150? This spring I'm thinking of getting rid of my F150 and I don't know if I want to go with the Tundra, F250 or wait until the new F-150. Beside the obvious towing needs, what else made you get rid of your f150?

The truck rides better, out acellerates, gettes better milage, and looks better than the f150. The only drawback is the SD is a bitch to park.

I like keeping my options open. I havn't test driven the Tundra or the F250 yet, but each has its strengths. I think keeping an open mind is important.

You can only get black leather on an FX4 now for some odd dumb reason.

In all honesty thats like comparing a Ranger and a F150. If you can justify the need for a F250 there is no way a Tundra will meet your needs. If you don't need the F250....well buy one anyway and you won't regret it (until its time to try to find a parking space for it!)

for me, I tow a 5er....and you are right about parking spots. I need a country mile to park the thing. Parking "out in the lot" takes on a whole new meaning and you set yourself up for break ins when you park in the back 40.

Is it worth it? Oh yeah. Nice to know I have power and more power when I press on the pedal to the right.

A Toyota? Please, they are struggling to sell them here in Texas. Sales are down 6% on the new truck. Not to mention that the Big Three are also struggling on truck sales but it hurts Toyota the most as they put so much in to marketing around that new truck. Reported problems, not doing well.

Eh... When I go to purchase my 2011-2012 Superduty, it'll be a Larryete cause you can still get those with a 6 speed... And I cannot in any way justify the need for my F-250. At all.

Try parking it 10 times a day in Dr office and hospital parking lots...it can be a royal PIA! I really had no idea it would be so much harder to park than my F150 was...it really makes me miss my Jeep TJ. But your right the extra power is worth it....I finaly got to pull a loaded trailer today (double axel car hauler with my Jeep YJ on it to get painted) and I was amazed how much more power the truck really has!

You're right. Its like comparing apples and oranges. At this point I don't have much to tow, but within a year, that will change a bit and I might be doing a little more towing, but not a heck of a lot to justify a F350 TD. I like F250 because of what it has to offer and how great it looks driving down the road and the interior is outstanding. You mentioned the ride is better than an f150, but i'll have to test drive one. I've gotta think that the heavy duty suspension will give it a bouncy ride, but we'll see.

As far as Toyota is concerned, its another option, that in my mind is a solid one. But then again I havn't driven one yet either. I browse around on different forums to gather info to try and make an informed decision and learn about what each owner likes and dislikes about their vehicle. For me its comfort and convenience. I'm a bigger guy (6'2 260lbs) and I'm a gadget freak, so options are important.

BTW, Sales numbers are crap. If there is a vehicle that suits an individual and meets their needs, then they should get it. Sales numbers are tainted by fleet sales to larger corporations and companies that buy a low cost, striped down vehicles. but of course, you're right, sales numbers are sales numbers

Sorry RAM, not trying to hijack this thread

Let me clarify...the ride is better than it was on MY F150, of course it had 24s on it and that had some effect on the ride. But with that said the SD does not ride rough at all. It has a stiffer, less bouncy feel than the F150 did...and I like that a lot better. For lack of a better word it feels more stable. Of course weighing twice as much doesnt hurt either.

You really should test drive one...you will be impressed. I test drove the last new 07 they had back to back with my 08 and the 08 blew it away as far as ride and noise level went. You would think being a PS it would be loud inside but its not.

Sticker was $53,225, but the owner of the dealership had been driving it (1,200 miles) so they knocked off $8K (plus this is the 5th car we bought from them in 2 1/2 years)...then I got $5k in rebates. They gave me $23K for my F150 (leaving the 24s and bed cover on it)...so I did real well on the truck IMO.

They gave you that loaner hoping you would want to trade after driving it!
