I have an '06 Harley Davidson Super Duty with the standard manual folding exterior mirrors. My neighbor has new 2008 SD with the cool power telescoping/folding feature. Would it be a fairly easy task to retrofit these new '08 mirrors with power controls onto a pre-2008 SD? It looks like the mounting is the same and while the controls mount up differently on the door panel, they look like they could be engineered to fit.

Alternatively, are there aftermarket power mirror kits available?

It can be done, but the wiring is different and you have to do some creative wiring for the power fold. there are some folks over at dieselstop.com that have done this mod, might check there for details on the swap

Yes its pretty easy from what I here...basicaly all you have to do is swap the drivers side (possibly the passengers side) hinge assembly from your old gate and tis a direct swap.

 

the mirrors are avaliable thru dfuser on ebay, search for 2008 mirrors, manual fold/extent are 419.00 and the power ones with all of the switches adapters, etc are 1199.00

Good price now...but if you can wait 6mos to a year it will drop to around $800.

 

yeah, prolly even will drop down father then that after everyone quits being amazed by them lol
