Looking at a 02 F250 SD w/ 7.3L. Need advice.

This thing is clean with 130k on the clock. Thinking of making it mine. Its 4x4 with a manual transfer case, XLT, 3.73LS, Offroad package, Crew cab, 7.3PSD, Auto trans, and very nice.

What are some of the common things to check out before purchasing?
I have access to the lifts here at work to put it up in the air and will do so, but I need to know if there are any specific things to check out.

Anybody have any idea of average fuel mileage?

Any common problems?

Any and all helpful comments are appreciated.

Check the obvious stuff. Rust, gooseneck/5th wheel, etc. Drive it. Check for any excessive smoke on start up. Make sure you get up on it during the test drive, run it through ALL of the gears, so romp on it while getting on the highway. It will shift into O/D at 70ish MPH. 130K means that it might be at the end of the transmission life, especially if it was used to tow large trailers. Check the air intake tube for any dust. If it has a K&N filter, run away. Other than that, it's a solid truck. If you buy it, make sure you stock up on Cam Position Sensors, and keep a 10MM wrench in the glove box.
