Transfer case fluid requirements

I bought a 2004 250 Power stroke......the tranny uses Mercon SP, but can someone tell me what I need to put in the transfer case when I service it? also at what mileage should I change the tranny and transfer case fluids? the truck has 42,000 miles on it....Thanks

Theres this REALLY cool little book in the glove box that has all the magical answers you want regarding maintenance on your truck.

Its called an owners manual, you need to read it.

Wow, here is where the gasser and diesel guys can concur.

We use the same fluids in both the tranny (at least in my case the torqueshift tranny) and transfer case.

Geez...just had to say that

Happy Trails!

Well...maybe you should get yourself a manual for your year of the truck...duh...!

Easy!!!! it's all in jest!

Powerstroke73 is pretty good with information. He's a diesel guy and I'm a gasser and I learn sh%$ from him too!

Anyway, I hear where you are comin' from. Aside from the jibs, you will get good info here once in awhile.

Right on!!
