You can for sure fit 305s, but they will bubble in the middle and cause the centers to wear out too quickly. Go with 285s.

You cannot run 35's without lifting the front of the truck to level it out. After leveling the truck you can safely run 35's but they will rub the leafs at full lock. Unless you have a coilover truck, that is, but I doubt you do since you are running 16" wheels. Either way, you will need wider wheels. The stockers are 7" wide. 285's are even pushing it on a stock 16x7. A 9" wide wheel with a -12mm offset and a set of 35x12.50s looks perfect on a leveled truck. I ran this setup on my truck for a while and honestly wish I would have left it that way. I am now running 6.5" of lift with 37x13.50" tires.

305/70/18 **** Cepek F/C's work on stock 05+ F250's...they are 35" and just slightly wider than the 275/70/18 stockers.

Won't work, you need more than X codes. At minimum you need a leveling kit, but adding X codes to the mix will help. X codes are only good for 1-2" of lift depending how shot your old springs are.

my 03' 4x4 f-250 had 315-70-17s with 17x9 wheels without any rubbing, it can work with the right wheels. that was without a leveling kit too. so to answer your question, yes they will fit. the wheel is to narrow for that wheel, but i have seen 315s on stock wheels.315s will also fit on 05+ models too.

Thanks for the help everyone! I think i am going to go with a 6" lift kit with new wheels and tires probably 35's or 37's. I like the looks of the 20" wheels but i like the price of the 18" wheels and tires plus there doesnt seem to be as many sizes out in the 20" tires yet. Brian your truck looks awesome with the 37's. What kind of fuel mileage do you get with the 37's apposed to the 35's?

Fuel mileage with the 37's sucks, but that has alot to do with the original 3.73 gears I am running. I plan on going to 4.3 soon. And no, I'm not mistaken, I am going to run shorter gears and get better fuel mileage. In diesels, your exhaust temp (EGT) is *directly* related to fuel mileage. The lower your EGTs run, the better mileage you will get. Right now, it takes more throttle (read more fuel leading to more heat) to maintain speed on the highway. In fact, my exhaust temps run 150 degrees cooler in third gear. So with OD locked out, I am getting better fuel mileage, but running close to red line. In fact, my exhaust temps run cooler at 80mph than they do at 70mph, and I get better mileage. So...With shorter gears, I will turn more RPM, but get better fuel mileage.

But to answer the original question, I got 14-15mpg with 35's, now am getting between 11-13 with 37's. Keep in mind that the 37's are an inch wider than my 35's were as well. An extra inch of width on a 37" tire is 18 lbs a piece. That can't be helping either!! And a general rule of thumb is between 4"-6" of lift, you can clear 35's. You need 8" of lift to clear 37. Although I am running 37's on 6.5" of lift, there may be some truth to that. Mine rub at close to full lock (you really can't get away with that on a leaf spring truck) and also if I am turned at all and go over a significant sized bump. I tend to like the look of larger tires than most folks do. In fact, when my truck is parked a certain way I almost think the 37's look too smal, but they barely clear so anything larger is out of the question. If I really did any kind of serious offroading I would have to run a smaller tire. I was on 35x12.50 when I first put the lift on and although it didn't look great, I' have definately seen worse. I have though about going to either a 37x12.50, 35x13.50, or maybe even a 36 next time around. Depends on how the fule mileage and power feels once I re-gear.

Thanks Brian for all your help. I think i am going to go with 35's because of price and fuel mileage. I think i will also go with a smaller lift. Maybe a 4 or 5 in. I am like you i dont like to much gap between the fenders and the tires.

This is my first diesel and i have only had it for about two weeks but i dont think i will ever own another gas burner. I will try to post some pic's in the near future. Thanks agin for the help!
