I don't think I'd ever buy or drive a Ford after that either. Regardless of the recalls involved, Ford still allowed it to roll of the assembly line in the first place. And regardless of who manufactured the problem part, Ford still installed it in the first place. Nothing like using parts from the lowest bidder.
The parts were manufactured by Texas Instruments, a hardly a case of the "lower bidder". FWIW, the switches were designed and manufactured as specified, but fail due to an unforeseen anomaly in the brake master cylinder itself. Read the engineering analysis.

I'm still waiting for a call from my Ford dealer to fix the cruise control bomb in my truck. They claim the parts to fix it are on back order. That means they disconnected my cruise as a temporary fix. That would be the cruise that was an upcharge on the original build sheet. That was almost a year ago. I think I'll call again today.
The recent (last summer) expansion resulted in the requirement for millions more of the recall kits. If you've been waiting for a year, it's the dealer's fault or yours for not following up. There were plenty of kits in the system before the recall expansion.

Keep an eye on your Ford, you never know when it will burst into flames.

Don't live under a rock. Read your mail.

They are now replacing several YEARS worth of parts. How many MILLIONS of F-Series trucks were made in the years affected? Now mutiply that by X amount of years? Those harnesses don't just grow like wild flowers.

2nd post I have read like this today, someone gets on here complaining about how much ford sucks and they will never buy a piece of junk made by ford again. Then by the end they are saying how great ford trucks are but they have problems.

That's cool - anyway, regarding the 6.0L: go with the '05 models and up if your looking at a used diesel. Alot of folks have been very happy with the 7.3L as well. Both these engines will handle heavy towing needs and provide many miles to boot!

For a gas model: The '05+ 3V V10's with the 4:30 will give good reliable service if your needs include towing alot, but wish to move up to the 5.4L V8's big brother.

Good Luck in your search...

Yes, I am a bit biased toward Ford, but the Dodge (well...Cummins diesel) is worth looking at too.

Buy 3 trucks.

1. Buy a Ford F250 or 350, pick it, this exercise doesn't matter.
2. Buy a Dodge CTD 2500, take the engine out and put in #1, throw rest of truck away
3. Get a GMC 2500 with an Allison Transmission, take that off and put in #1 then throw the rest of that truck away.

After you combine 3 to 1 and 2 to 1, you'll have the worlds perfect truck.
