I must be crazy...I traded my 08 F250

I must be crazy...I traded my 08 F250. When I bought my F250 back in May, the best interest rate available for the Super Duty for 60 months was 6.9% and I actually had financed it for 72 months at 7.9%. Well, with the new incentives including 0% financing and $2000 in customer loyalty cash, I figured I would give my dealer a call. We just bought an 08 Edge last Friday, so I called them up and asked if they could work a trade with nothing down and keeping the same payment or reducing the payment for 60 months. I faxed over my window sticker and told him that I liked my truck but would like leather seats instead of cloth. He called me back and I got a new 08 F250 just like mine, (same color, same configuration) only with 0 miles.

The things that I will be giving up are:
MOLDED BLACK CAB STEPS
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER
PREM 6-DISC CD
TRACTION CONTROL
EXTRA HEAVY DUTY ALTERNATOR
BODYSIDE PROTECTION MOLDING
12,000 MILES

The things that I will be gaining:
BLACK LEATHER SEATS
AUDIO CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL
CHROME TUBULAR CAB STEPS
SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO W/6 MOS OF SVC
6-CD AUDIOPHILE RADIO SYSTEM
MEMORY SEAT
ADJUSTABLE GAS/BRAKE PEDAL
STABILIZER PACKAGE
PRIVACY GLASS

So, I really won't be giving up anything that really matters and I will be gaining leather and audiophile with sirius. Now for the answer to the question that everyone wants to know...how much is all this going to cost me. The answer is $10 more per month and one extra payment. I had made 7 payments, so I had 65 payments to go. Ford financed me for 66 months for $10 more than my current payment.

I have not taken any pictures, since it was dark and the new truck looks just like the old truck. I swapped the wheels off my truck onto the new truck, since my wheels were still pristine with 10,000 miles and it was the easiest way to keep my tires.

I would've asked them to add the engine block heater... never know when you might need it up north.

But congrats on the purchase... I wish I could do funky stuff like that.

Yeah, I doubt that I will miss the 200 amp alternator or the body side molding, but the traction control and block heater are going to be missed. Even though I never plugged the block heater in, I always figures it would come in handy some day.

Oh yeah, MSRP on the first truck was $47,115 and the second truck was $48,695. So, even though I didn't really get a better deal, I may have improved my position a little. More principal...no interest...$10 more per month.

Yeah... almost sounds like what I did when I got my '07... I was paying $333 a month and by getting my '07, I dropped down to $330 a month... not much... but's something, with a way lower interest rate of like 2%.

Just more principal like in your case.

I dunno what my interest was on the Escape... I think it was like 8% or so... it was high... I think my highly established credit helped out a lot too. Back when I bought my Escape, my credit was fairly new... so that I'm sure played a roll.

Nice upgrade. Well worth it for what you got. You really can't beat that 0% financing unless you have enough cash to buy it outright that is. That's one or the reasons I went from my 05 FX4 Screw to my KR.

Also shows how well the F-250+ P.S. keep their value. That wouldn't have happened on a F-150.

Sounds like a great deal to me. I got 0% financing on my truck too and it's a lot easier cutting that check every month knowing that it's all going toward principal. Nice work

i need to refinance. fast. how would i go about that? call up the bank that my loan is through and bitch? or go somewhere else?

I actually think i will be getting an 09 in a year anyways....

Well, I'm not going to lie...my payment is a little north of $650 a month. It's not cheap, but I can manage it. It just cuts into my "modding" money, so I can't afford to mod it anyway.

I called Ford Credit and asked them if they could "refinance" me at the new 0% rate and they said no. I think I heard them laughing in the background. In effect, they did refinance me...just on a new truck.
