You definately need to use diesel specific oil. There are lots of good oils out there, both synthetic and dino based. Shell Rotella T, Mobil Delvac, Mobil Dello 400, etc etc..

Your truck didn't come with a manual? If it did, I'd suggest you read it. If it didn't, I suggest you get one. And read it. Or, you could take my word for it. It holds 1.5 quarts. Use 0w10...........wallmart brand is best. And wait till you see what it costs for the filters. Go to Jiffylube.

Now THATS good adivce

BTW, Walmart oil brings the suck. You get WAY better performance if you take 1 quart of each oil and mix it. All benefit no problems. ATF and 80W90 gives the truck 50hp extra if its in the mix.

Oh, I just wanted to add Jiffy Lube rocks for diesel service. You should totally take your truck there

With the 6.4L engine, you MUST you CJ-4 rated oil. The only CJ-4 rated oil that Walmart sells is Castrol Tection Extra 15W40. It comes in 1 gallon green bottles.

It's best to just ignore people like that. I have several added to my ignore list. click on his name and click to view his public profile, then click on "Add to ignore list" in the black bar near the middle of the page. I had to add last5oh_302 to mine because he was constantly spouting off something stupid.

I'm smart enough to read my manual, rather than go by a strangers advice on an internet forum. Good luck with your warranty there, jerkamoo.
