V10 Mpg?
My bro-inlaw is looking at a new F250 Crew 4x4. He doesn't really want a diesel so he is looking at the V10. Does anyone have one? Can you give some ballpark's on what kind of fuel mileage you are getting? I think he was hoping for 11-14 empty with towing being about 10ish? I thought it might be close to the new diesel...
Thanks!

Around town during the summer was getting 11.5 or so according to the computer mpg's also got about the same on the highway as well. Right now the computer is only reading 9.8 give or take. I only go about 3 miles to work so it doesnt really get warmed up. I still think ill break even with the V10 vs the cost of the diesel, since on average i only keep them about 3 yrs or 36-40000 miles. I dont have any towing mpg's for you.

I don't really believe the 20 mpg for the 6.4L Diesel either(I've heard that it actually gets less mileage than the 6.0L)

if it is really stop n go, 9ish, if it opens up about 11 mpg. 20 mpg sounds about 6 mpg better than anybody else here, and i get 15mpg in town, too. you can't worry about mileage if you are considering the v-10. that is why i am considering getting rid of my truck. i don't tow anything heavy anymore, it just takes me to work and back now. a v-10 f-350 is a little overkill for a commuter vehicle....

It may be a bit overkill, but some folks who buys diesels have that mind set anyway. It's just cool to at least have the capability.
Still, you maybe in a position to tow something again - like a buddy's big boat, a rented RV Camper of awesome size, etc....you never know - and since you have it, try to keep it.

I forgot to add that it's my race truck too. When I'm towing my trailer with the race truck in the trailer, it's actually towing the trailer and inside the trailer at the same time. It's a magical truck.
