Was this when you picked it up and drove home?
I actually felt the rough idle and vibration at higher speeds when I test drove it the first time. It had 6 miles on it at that point. The vibration at higher speeds is weird. It'll kick in and almost feel like wheel hop, and when I let off the gas it goes away, but usually comes back soon after I get on the gas again. The idle almost feels like a cylinder or two are missing. I have no idea what it could be, but the torque convertor and cylinders have crossed my mind. Maybe just an injector problem... hopefully something simple.

SteveV, thanks, same at ya.

MOford, thanks for that link. I'm contemplating having the big bugger painted to match the bumper, but I can forsee some serious dings that would show up a lot worse later on. I might look for an original style one to replace it after I get the lift on. It doesn't look too bad now, but might be an eyesore once it is lifted.

Good eye! I didn't even notice. I am definitely not digging the extra-long valance. I would definitely try to find the Job 1 valance for it.

I have a feeling it is going to get swapped, but I'd like to see how it looks after putting the lift on. I'm sure I could sell it on ebay to a job 1 person who is sick to their stomach about the gas mileage they are getting.

nice truck. Smart move not getting bigger wheels when you would just replace them anyways .

Do you guys really think that would make much diffrence in gas mileage?

Aerodynamics can do interesting things - maybe someone will drive with the short one, then swap out and drive with the long one and tell of their conclusion

I think the majority of that 1.5 MPG is the lower gears. That 4" added to the valance probably gives you about .25 MPG.

Yeah thats what i was kind of thinking. I figured it couldnt make that much of a diffrence.

Side note: i almost kicked myself for not ordering a diesel when i orderd the truck but today diesel is $4.10 went up .20 overnight.

Actually, you'd be *shocked* as to what that little bit can do. There's a report going around on the internet somewhere... Some guy who was studying to be a Mechanical Engineer did his senior project on creating an air dam for the front of his 2500 Cummins that was lifted and on 35s. He increased his mpg by 3, all from an air dam.

It's because of the different grades of fuel.

I've seen my mpg go from 22 mpg to 18 mpg because of junk fuel. So what does that tell you?

There are a LOT of variables involved.

I've said it before and I'll say it again on this site. You guys kill me with talking about mileage everyday. I bought the truck for work, not mileage... otherwise I'd own a small car.

I did a load of carpet I had ripped up the other day, and sheetrock and tools for remodeling the week or so before that. You can't do that with a car. I don't worry about mileage because I know I have to haul that stuff to remodel the room. My next vehicle will be a car to drive on the days I don't need the truck, but if I can't afford to own it and the truck, I will just own a truck.

Do you really think an Engineering student would base his test on one tank of fuel?
