Replaced factory Audiophile sub, having problems...
Well, I removed my factory Audiophile amp/sub enclosure from my truck. I installed an MTX Thunderform enclosure with a pair of 10" Rockford Fosgate P3SD410's in it. I had no problems wiring power to the amplifier and wiring the amplifier to the subs.
I am still having a problem with my bass output though. I tried to tap into the low level stock sub inputs, but could not get any sound at all from them. Then I tried tapping into the stock sub output on the back of the radio. Nothing. So I decided to tap into the rear door speaker outputs on the back of the radio and use a LOC. It works but I don't seem to be getting the low bass. I think that those outputs may be crossed over and may not be full range so I may only be getting mid-bass. Would I be better off putting the stock amp back in and then tapping into the output from the stock amp?
If any of you guys have replaced the stock sub but are still using the stock HU, I would really love to know where you tapped into the stock system for audio.
Thanks!
John

The wiring colors are all different on the 2008 Super Duty. Here's a very helpful link. It has a lot of wiring diagrams.

I fixed it! The signal wires going to the stock amp are LOW LEVEL inputs. When I tried using them, I was using a LOC. I guess an LOC doesn't work with line levels in. I had to change the gain switch on my amp to the .1-1 volt range and then I had to turn my gains down to about 1/3 of the way. I pounds and it's deep bass. I've never had 10's before, only 12's and 15's. I am so happy.

I bought the loaded box in black, part number F250X00BK20-T45, but the drivers were damaged when I got the box. They refunded $80 for the two subs and I bought a pair of Rockford Fosgate P3SD410's.

I bought 2 mtx 10" 4500 seris subs buy 1 get 1 FREE at crutchfield.com, so thats what im putting in. $100 for 2 subs, $200 alpine 500wrms amp, $135 for the box with xtra mounting depth. Plus install kit (wire, etc). Should be pretty decent.
Could you PLEASE put up some pics of the amp install to the back wall!? I am DIEING to find out how you did it. I posted about it tonight! I removed the seat back and went WHOA! WTF!! So much metal back there! The whole back of the seat is like a cage back there!
Thanks!
Roger
