A Sunset Orange Metalic one? They only made 302 of them in 2002 (compared to say 50,000 or so black ones and red ones...combined 1998-2002) so its pretty rare....for even more comparison they made 1250 of the yellow 2002 Collectors Edition TAs. I am an F-Body nut and I have only seen one other orange WS6 in person. But if it is SOM and he drives it everyday thats cool...one less in prestine condition I guess.

I've tried to read threads of owners like yourself and Freeky and opinions vary, so I figured I would just ask.

Thanks
Comparing a SD and a F150 is really like comparing a F150 and a Ranger. The SD is that much more of a truck in ever sense. To me it rides better than my F150 did (but I did have 24s on the F150 so that had a lot to do with it) and it certainly doesnt ride rough at all. I promise you you wont miss the F150 a bit if you upgrade...and thats what it is, an upgrade!

Yep, same car, same color...and I see it every morning on the way to work.

As far as the F250 goes, it is truly an upgrade to the F150. The F150 always felt big and heavy and tough to me...until I drove the 2008 F250. I knew I had to have one.

i have had all three trucks, f-150, f-250, and now a f-350, the f-150 rode a lot better. the f-350 on the freeway can be an interesting ride, especially the expansion joints. then again you don't buy a superduty for the ride.

The only reason it is rare is because of the paint color???? I've seen that color running around before too, actually being driven...250 looks good though.

Tough crowd here, Ram. I guess it's tough to get anyone to appreciate the TA's on a Ford site. Anyway, sweet ride! It was a sad day for me when the stopped producing them. I had a 91 TA back in High School. I sold it a few years ago and I regret it often. I look around for used TA's for sale sometimes but it's "rare" to find one in decent shape and one with out high mileage.

here's my old baby....

The Knight Rider collector car!

Actually that was my favorite design - cool wedge front and sleek body!

Yeah, I got the same crap from some ignorant a$$es on the F-body boards about getting a SD over a Chevy...so I guess its all about what board your posting on as to what people know about.

Any way that was a sharp TA...was it a TPI 305 car? I have always had a soft spot for the 3rd gen cars...I have had about 15 of them. I just traded a 90 TA I had put a LT1 in for my Wrangler. My first TA was a 88 GTA.

Here are my 3 current 3rd Gen cars:

A 91 GTA...I have only had it for about 3 months. It needs some TLC but its an all original 305/5spd car with 89K miles.

My 87 Formula 350...I have had it for 4 years and its been restored from the ground up and just needs paint to be finished. Its a 350/700r4 (now a 383 TPI) car with 78K miles.

And my 89 IROC...all original 305/5spd with 129K miles. I have had it for 5 years. My wife drives it to work most days.

I have those 3, and the 02 SOM WS6 and the 02 Firehawk pictured above. So needless to say I like F-Bodies...and Firebirds in particular.

I really dig that blue IROC! it was sweet back in the late '80's

Didn't the GTA also get offered in an auto/350ci (corvette engine) back in the early 90's?

GTAs were made from 87-92 (the one like I have is a 91-92 body style...the front and rear bumpers, ground effects and wing are different) and most came with 5.7/700R4s (it was the same as a Corvette motor with the exception that only Vettes got aluminum heads). The 5.0/5spd GTAs were a lot rarer...thats why I bought the one I did even though it needed some work and had some miles on it.

They also made a few 5.0/700R4 GTAs too but they aren't any more desirable than the 5.7/700R4s even though they are about 10 times as rare. However, you could not get a 5.7/5spd car in any 3rd gen F-Body...Firebird or Camaro. So if its a 5spd car its a 305.

I had never heard of a 305/5-speed 'GTA' - I thought the GTA was only the 350/auto option. Of course I am a 1st gen Fox Body enthusiast ('89 Stang) so I really didn't keep up too much with the GM offerings I guess.

Anyway, I appreciate the info! - Thanks...

Yeap..they made them. All GTAs were Tuned Port Injected though. But not all Trans Am were...you could get a Throttle Body Injected 305 Trans Am...but you could also get a Trans Am with the same 350 the GTA got. The GTA option was more or less just a trim level option on top of a loaded Trans Am...for lack of a better way of explaining it. It wasnt like the WS6 option on 4th Gen cars.

Ooops. I have to come clean. Mine was actually a Formula. It had the L98 in it. 5.7 TPI. Loved that car! A buddy of mine had a white GTA with the 305 TPI. He cracked it up pretty good so I took the tail light covers off of it and made mine a wanna be TA. I was a huge Knight Rider dork I suppose. I even got the Knight Rider bumper installed on it before I had her painted. There is a pic in my gallery. I didn't go as far as to have the red light flashing back and forth, but I did think about it!

Anyway, Ram. That is one sweet collection you have there
