Awesome.

Well, when I traded in my 08 F250 for a new one, I swore that I would wait until I had at least 2000 miles on the new truck before tuning it. That day came today, and I really had forgotten what a difference it made. I have the Superchips Flashpaq 1808 and I updated it with the latest file from Superchips, which includes Advanced Data Acquisition. The best way to descibe the difference is to say that after tuning it, the throttle is so much more responsive. More like a truck with a gasoline engine. I still think that the transmission tuning is the biggest difference, but the turbos also spool up faster and higher. I used the Performance Tune: 114 HP and 206 foot lbs torque, no towing permitted. I will let you guys know how my fuel mileage does.

Are those numbers in addition to the base HP and TQ numbers?? If so, holy *****!! It must feel like a whole new truck!

Did you look at bully dog? just curious as far as what you researched.

Yeah, they are. But that is a bit misleading. Those numbers are probably not at the peak HP and torque. Regardless though, any time you increase the area under the HP and torque curves, it's good.

FlashPaq 1808

I bought the Superchips because it was the first tuner available for the 2008 last year. From what I have seen, most tuners add about the same amount of power. I have always been happy with Superchips and I feel that their tunes tend to be a little more conservative than some of the others. At $400, the price was also right.

You gotta' stop worrying and start living sometimes. I guess if I was poor, I would worry about it too. Of course, I wouldn't have a $50,000 truck either. I suppose it all comes down to whether or not you have the ***** to take risks. Some people are afraid to step outside because the world is a dangerous place. But what good is being alive...if you never live? Maybe some day you will grow some (or have enough money that it won't matter). At any rate, I am not concerned, so I don't see why you should be concerned for me.

I'm far from being poor! However it's your truck & your $$$, live life as you wish!........Someday I just hope that your new highly sophisticated 6.4 PowerStroke does not go Boom & they deny your warranty claim, & I hear you crying all the way up here!.........

Sweet, gotta love extra horses under the hood.

I'd love to beef up the V-10 in my 250, but I can't justify throwing a tuner or supercharger on this truck when our gas is so crappy in Alaska. I have enough problems with my supercharged F150 trying to keep the pinging down and the plugs clean with our 90 octane premium. I can't see going through all these hassles with both of my vehicles. I pretty much voided my factory warranty under 15000 miles with throwing that whipple on there. You gotta pay to play sometimes.

Congrats on your new programmer! The way I see it if a new truck can't handle extra horsepower & torque in the begining (under warranty ) then how would it ever be able to handle that extra power in like 60,000+ miles (out of warranty ) later down the road. Now go out and eat up those dodge's & chevy's

This is the truth I have accepted.

Amen! It's actually not a new tuner. I had my last 08 F250 tuned with it for over 10,000 miles. I just really forgot how much better the truck ran with the tune installed.

Yeah, I wasted half a tank of gas today just driving around. That's $40 down the drain!

If I was you I would not go crazy with max power settings on your tune. The 6.4 PowerStroke with dual turbo's & all of it's numerous radiators is already pretty much maxed out at factory settings..........
