Looking at a new (to me) F-250 - have ??
Ok, so I’m taking the family to dinner the other night and I pass by a Toyota dealership with a beautiful 250 on the grass out front. After dinner we stop by to get some details. It’s an ’07 Lariat PSD with 19k miles. They are asking $35k for it. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, but is nicely equipped; especially when compared to my current ‘99 150 XLT. The truck appears to be in very nice condition and drove like a dream. The folks at the dealership aren’t able to tell me much beyond what I already know about these trucks, so I’ve got a couple of questions for the group:
1. A few moments after start-up, the message center displayed “water in fuel.” I know diesel is prone to this (especially if this one has been setting for awhile) and there is a water separator at the fuel filter that needs to be emptied every so often. Is this something to avoid or is it as simple as negotiating in a fuel filter change with the neighboring Ford House?
2. Is anyone willing to run an OASIS report on this truck or would it even tell me anything more than a CARFAX report? Everthing was clean on the CARFAX and by the mileage it seems that it’s spent a pretty normal amount of time on the road instead of the shop. The VIN is 1FTSW21P87EB41958.
Thanks for any input or assistance.
