2008 exhaust?

What kind of problems am I going to run into with aftermarket exhaust on my 2008 diesel. I know it has some sort of canister deal that I assume is some sort of additional emitions reducer. I don't know how removing this will affect the computer, drivability, etc. Thanks, Lewis.

I have been looking around myself. I have been looking at the banks claim on how they have the best heat reducing DPF back exhaust for the 08.. Banks claims to be better then the others. How true that is I do not know. I would like to do a 5" DPF back with duals or 4" is fine too.. I know the DPF is pretty important to have I do not want to chance removing it and having issues with state laws and then getting fines out the kazoo..

its before the muffler i think thats what it is.. I think its suppose to act like a catalytic converter... instead the DPF catches all the soot so i guess thats why you dont see black smoke coming from our trucks..

The tall pipe has somthing to do with when it cleans the dpf if its not set up right you can see flames come out. some of the first 08's did this. I think you can go to youtube and find clips

i just went with a sinlge 4in mbrp 409 stainless seams to be the best price for what your getting out of it considering its only benefit is the looks. I believe i paid around $250 were as the dual exit pipes are double that and the banks or magnaflow systems are $400+ also.

The first thing I am doing tomorrow when I get home is remove the tip thing. I so want to see the Flames shooting out the back of my truck.

Are you going to cut it off? I have been told that if you modify the exhaust on these trucks, Ford can refuse to warranty any repairs that they determine to be caused by the modification.

The 6.4 exhaust has 3 temp sensors and 1 pressure sensor, these are all under the truck, crawl under and look. If you make any modification and you take it to a dealer for a problem, you're probably going to be SOL! The twin tips are suppose to help cool the exhaust by sucking in outside air. As for seeing flames, good luck! The guy in that video had one of the very first job 1's with 2 bad injectors. Ford made sure those don't exsist.
