Replacing Fuel Filter on F250 5.4L 2003

I was talking to my local stealer and he said to replace the fuel filter is about $110.
Two questions:
How important is it to change the fuel filter?
Does any know if depressurizing the fuel system is difficult?

i change my fuel filter every 15k miles-just buy the 5$ tool-the pressure upon release of the filter is very small-phil

You can buy the filter for $10. There is a plastic tool to pull the ful lines, less than $10. Read you manual to depressurize the fuel line. You Tube has good instructions
