Help with looking for 99 F250 Diesel

Shopping for a 1999 F250 CrewCab 4x4 Diesel for a cousin... i have never owned a diesel. Just loooking for some tips or suggestions as to what i should be looking for. Any known problems that i should be aware of?

He wants to import it into mexico. According to him SuperDuties started to sell over there last year. Truck has to be a 99 and under 10,000# GVWR if its a diesel and like 7000# GVWR if its a gasser. Wants deisel because diesel cost half of what gas costs

Still not quite sure why it needs to be a 1999, but there aren't really any major problems he should look out for. Just basic stuff really. Since he'll just be re-selling it, it really won't matter if it is an early or late 99.

Law over there says that the vehicle must be 10 years or older... you can start import 99 model year vehicles in november.
