Diesel Kleen masking a problem?

Diesel Kleen masking a problem? Or beneficial to your engine?

My boss and a co-worker both drive diesels, both say I should run it about every other tank fill-up.

This is my first diesel

I don't ever touch the diesel kleen crap, but no it won't mask a problem. The reason people want to run the addatives is to boost the cetane rating, anti-gel addatives, and lubricity boosts. You don't HAVE to run it, but some people think their engine runs better on it. I would recommend you look at either Power Service or Standadyne.

I've run Diesel Kleen (white and gray) and Power Service and didn't notice a thing. The only thing that DID work for me was 2 stroke oil, although I wouldn't recommend it for your 6.4.

Yes, DK is made by Power Service...

It won't hurt your engine, and it is ULSD compliant.

I used a bottle for a couple tanks of gas, didn't really notice any difference.

My truck seemed to go into regen more often when I used it. I still run it about once every 5 or 6 tanks. I don't think it can hurt, although a DPF is extremely expensive to replace. I have heard that they cost in the neighborhood of $2400.
