Isn't the 6.2L only available in special edition F150's Raptor's? I believe that hp was 400 with 400 ft/lbs...if the SD want's to do anything near 'super' it better at least have that with the new 6-speed. I think it will

The 6.2 is replacing the 5.4 and 6.8.

Man looking at the Superduties they are making the hoods so much taller and higher than the beds, just makes the truck look so odd. That little short bed is pathetic (height, not length) compared to the rest of the truck.

From a link in the '09+ forum the 6.2L with make 411hp @ 5500 rpm and 434 lbs-ft@ 4500 rpm, and will make it's way into the regular production models. I was just wondering if it would be tuned differently in the SD trucks. The hp is nice and the torque is respectable, but the high revs are a bit of a concern.

The bed on the F150 is WAY too deep. The depth of the bed in the SD is much more compatible with a Gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer.

Pathetic?

The 6.2L will be available on the 2010 Raptor as a $3000 option and will be the standard engine on the 2011 SD. It will be available on all other F150 models for 2011. The 6.8L engine will still be available in 2011 only on the F-450 and the F-550 Chassis Cab.

Guess the 6.2L isn't up to the 'heavy' stuff...yet at least

As mentioned before - pretty good endorsement of the ole reliable V10

It looks like a new V6 and a new 5.0L V8 called the 'coyote' might be the 'standard' engine options for the F150...the 6.2L might be another option - ?? Lot's of stuff bouncin' around the internet...

Thanks for the info Pete. All I know for sure is that if I were in the market for a half ton truck, I would definitely wait for the 6.2L. The people buying the F150 with the 5.4L will be regretting it later.

Absolutely - I've seen a couple of video's of the Raptor and the 6.2L engine seems a great match for the F150 - exciting times at Ford for sure
