v-10 owners! I need your input!

Amen brother, but yes the 6.8 v10 is a great engine, I love mine to pieces. I have done a few mods and love the power and sound. I didn't buy it because of its great fuel mileage! :-) I will be sending it to Kooks first of the year for a full custom exhaust (my design) overhaul. And just like FreekyFX4 said, they have no idea. They're just mad because they can't count to 10.

Speaking of gas mileage, my f350 v10 is my daily driver, and to be honest, the gas mileage is pretty rough! I just bought it about a month ago and it didnt bother me at first, but it only gets around 8 mpg round town and 10 on the highway. Is something wrong here? Im not complaining, just want some input and think I may be in need for a tune up!

No oversized tires, stock with good tread. And Im not sure what gears I have. nothing aftermarket. I even cleaned the MAF and the air filter is good. The only thing i can think of is maybe a tune up? it has 80K on it. Will that make a difference in my gas mileage at all? Right now i just went 187 miles on a tank and to me that screams, "something isnt right"!

I only have the 27 gal (?) tank but i know that i should be able to go more than 187 miles on a tank. I can go about 250 on a tank if its all highway. I know the v10 isnt great on gas and I dont expect it to be but does anyone have any idead what it could be? It sucks paying 65 bucks to go less than 200 miles. Would a tune up help? Any other ideas?

It is idling on the rougher side I guess. But, will bad plugs affect the gas mileage at all? If so, is it worth the money to buy expensive plugs vs whatever autozone sells?

The plugs light the gas on fire... So yeah, they'll affect mileage. Put Motorcraft plugs in there.

That's what I meant - my mistake. Sticking issues?? like in valves?? - that's a new one (at least I have not heard that with the V10 3V) Know some folks that have alot of miles on their V10 3V motors and haven't had any 'sticking' issues...please explain
