Crums, WTH? If you are at all serious about buying the truck, get the FREE oasis run and spend the $20 bucks for the carfax. This is what we all have been saying for the past 2 weeks!

You're right, I was talking about you. We've ALL told you probably 5+ times each what to do, and yet, you still don't do it, come back here asking questions on the same stuff. I just don't get it...

your steps to get the truck which is probly sold know because you keep dilly dallying around

1) call dealership w/ vin. ask for oasis. nothing else to it.
2) get carfax

- dont buy a crappy superchips, edge, etc. buy a SCT or gryphon (PHP) and get it custom tuned. join a diesel site and ask for their advice on what to get. i would tell you which one i have found to be helpful but i don't want you to show up there as well. if you tune it, you NEED gauges as well which are easily $300.

P.S. there are people still here that can get the oasis.

All good advice, but Superchips is SCT. Superchips/SCT offers both generic and customs tunes through itself and/or it's dealers.

yea, but to get custom tunes you need the sct version as far as i know, i have not heard of anyone with custom tuning on the superchips tuner. im not saying it doesnt since i have never researched the actual superchips tuner, but all the major tuners i hear of use sct xcal's

and yes my new truck has gauges, and is tuned with superchips, and is straight piped, and has an intake, so now, ill probly get a lot of **** from people saying its a rolling fix up or a ticking time bomb for the shop, but idc im happy and thats all that matters, im going to try my hardest to keep everything working and running smoothly and hopefully it will last a decent amount of time.

if you dont know when to change an air filter and have oil changed you have a bigger issue.

id recommend going ahead and changing fluids in your diffs tho just to be on the safe side

Yes. Change all of them. Seriously. Spend the $200 or whatever to do it all yourself. Oh, and get a Blackstone Oil Report done.

No idea,, never worked on a 6.ohno. And a Blackstone will tell you what exactly is up with your motor. It tells you what is in the oil... fuel ,anitfreeze, metals, etc.

Got any pictures of the new beast? We'd love to see it. As far as maintenance on a diesel, it is a little more complicated than a gasser. The engine has 15 quarts of oil in it. Oil change intervals are usually more like 5000 miles than 3000 miles. Fuel filters have to be changed at certain intervals too. Depending on how many miles you have, you may want to flush the cooling system and transmission and change that out as well.
