Hey yall, firs post F-250

I came home from Iraq in March of 09. About a month after I was home i bought an 06 Super Duty, 5.4l. She gets about 13 mpg. Id like some advice on improving gas mileage.

I come home from afghanistan sometime in April. Im planning on puttin a K&N FIPK, a throttle body spacer and exhaust on it, I wasnt true dual exhaust that exits in from of my rear tire. I want it to sound nice but also improve fuel economy. Perhaps magna flow high flow cats and flow master 40 series mufflers, 3 inch pipe. Havent decided on stainless or not.

Im also lookin the N-FAB prerunner with 3 9 inch Hella lights.

And i know this isnt economical for fuel, but shes gettin 35x12.5/R17 BFG Mudterrain KM2's.

Any thoughts, ideas or improvements welcome.

Id post pics but i dont know how.

Welcome to the site! Yes, forget about the spacer, a waste of money. Look into a tuner as the best bang for the buck.

You have a very heavy truck with an engine that's a tad too small for it - it's not going to get good gas mileage no matter what you do to it. Any lift, bigger and/or more aggressive tires, and things that stick out into the airflow and reduce aerodynamic efficiency are just going to make it worse.

Id like to say thank you freakyFX4. because of you im spending way more money than i wanted to. Id been lookin at the bumper you have, vs the prerunner. But, when i saw it on your truck I made my desision. So Warn HD with brush guard it is. But i think im going to put 4 of their SDB-210 Dual Beam lights on it, instead of hellas or piaas. ill put them on 2 switches, so 2 can be on spot and 2 on flood, or all on one or the other.

Now i just need to find a place to do the exhaust, find a tuner, buy the tires, recon smoked can lights and order the intake. Itd be nice to find one place to do all this before I come home. Here is about what ive found for prices so far, know anywhere to get this stuff cheaper.

And thanks to everyone for the appreciation, it mean a lot.

Warn HD Bumper 2300
warn Lights(4) 1000
Recon Cab Lights(5) 90
KN FIPK 300
KM2 1200
Exhaust 2000
7390
the exhaust is just an estimate, im hopin itll be done a lot cheaper, and i still need to price a tuner

I just took a look at the Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Gas Gauge Tuner. For 460, I like it

$2000 for an exhaust? That thing better be gold plated!

For the same price-ish, you could get a custom tuned Gryphoon from PHP, which will offer more power.

I look into the gryphoon. Im alotting 2000, just to over shoot and its stainless steel true dual with 2 cats and 2 flowmaster 40 series mufflers, so i know it wont be cheap.

You'll need a leveling kit and aftermarket rims.
