You will be perfectly fine with 5000 or even 6000 lbs, just make sure that you have the tires up to their max psi.
Here is a picture of my F150 with roughly 2.2 -2.4 cu yds of sand in the bed, which calculates to somewhere in the neighborhood of 6000lbs (+/- a couple hundred lbs). I had the tires aired to their max (load range D) and air the Ride-Rites up to 100psi, in the picture there is only 40 psi in the bags. I only had to take it about a mile to a buddies house to unload it.
