Yeah, and that isn't the biggest problem....

Most of these miles were over the road, and I didn't even break 250 miles.

holy crap! thats how much a full tank of diesel is for me, and i get about 500 each fill (38 gal tank )

my dads has a 1999 f250 with the 5.4 (2v) crew cab short bed. the only mod is the K and N CAI. on the way to the river we get 16 MPG. its roughly 280 miles one way... we use just over a half a tank.

I've had Ford diesels for many years and ordered my 2008 F-250 with the 6.8 V-10. I couldn't be happier and it runs and tows with any maker diesel pickup except for the most extreme situations. Think about it. There are more V-10's in Class C motorhomes (F-350/450/550) than any other engine made. There's a reason, most reliable, durable and bullet proof engine made. In the past 4 years, there have been NO TSB's for the engine that I could find. Try that on any other engine, regardless of manufacturer. I'm just sorry that the V-10 is history and now we will have a new Ford gasser to worry with for a few years until the bugs are gone.

In the past 4 years, there have been NO TSB's for the engine that I could find.
Except for spark plug removal before the 2008 head redesign.
