cooling system help on 7.3 powerstroke

just bought a 1996 f250 2wd auto with a 7.3 turbo diesel, it had hit a deer and i installed a new radiator and tranny cooler, i have been trying for 2 days to bleed the air out of it and cant, the truck wont get hot enough for the thermostat to open?i can let it run for hours and the temp gauge only barley moves and heat is mild at best the coolant level never changes and the thermostat wont open. what should i do put in a new thermostat?
