Well, like the title says, I took my first road trip in this truck. I drove from Nashville to Pensacola last night, and averaged 17 MPG for the trip. I reset the trip meter before the trip, just to see how it compared, and I watched it closely as I drove. I was averaging about 17.5 MPG at first, then it dropped to around 17.1 MPG. Each time I would go up a hill, it would drop to 17.0 MPG, then as I came down hills, it would go to 17.1 MPG. The truck went into regen, and the computer dropped to 16.6 MPG. After the regen ended, it slowly made its way back up to 17.1 MPG, when it went into regen again, and it dropped to 16.8 MPG. After the regen cycle, it eventually came back up to 17.0 MPG, where it stayed until I arrived at my destination. I filled up once during the drive, and I managed to get 427 miles on 25.2 gallons, which is 16.9 MPG. (The most I had ever gotten out of a tank of diesel before this was 320 miles.)
This is amazing since I average right at 12.3 MPG around town. This is the first time I have ever reset the computer, so I am sure it will fluctuate quite a bit until it builds up some miles. I just can't believe the difference between my highway miles (17 MPG) and my city mileage (12.3 MPG). I guess a lot of this has to do with the fact that my normal driving is only about 10 miles at a time, so the engine is not up to temp during a lot of my driving.
I just turned over 13,500 miles on the truck, so I guess I should have it broken in by 2025!

No, and that's a great question! During the trip, I was using the mile markers and odometer to calculate my actual miles travelled. Here's what I found out. For every 8 miles that my odometer reads, my truck actually travels 1/10th of a mile more. That means that my truck actually has 1.25% more miles than what the odometer actually shows. It also means that my gas mileage is a little better than what I actually calculate.

Yea the stock tires are a 34. So the 35 will not make that much difference.
On a trip to NJ 2 weeks ago.
As I was entering NJ. About 100 miles at that point. After running around in NJ, a regen on the way home it was 15.5 for the trip.
Mine regens once every 300 miles or so.
