90 f250

ive been looking at 250s lately. i found a mid 90s with the 460 and realized it was gonna be a gas hog. now i just came across a 90 f250 diesel. 5spd. claims it has a rebuilt jasper motor? and it is gonna need a clutch soon. claims 17mpg, does that seem right for the earlier diesels? and those are the non turbo diesels right? my question is do you guys think its worth the 1500? i emailed about the miles and everything. here is a link http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/1623071751.html

I'd stay away from it. Looks like it's been beat.

That truck looks rough, but it really depends on how much rust it has in the floorboards and near the cab mounts. If the rust isn't bad, and if the truck is structurally sound, then that truck is worth the $1500 that he is asking for. Body panels can be repaired, but frame rust is a different story. Also, might want to check to see if the 4wd works. I can tell you that $1500 sure isn't much for a running truck.

Since it's a 1990, I'm 95% sure it's a 7.3... You said abuse... that truck has taken tons of it. Did anybody else see the mud in the interior? And the dude posting it on CL doesn't seem to sharp...

Ooh it has a smoke stake!!! But for 1500 if its not ready to snap in half and it has a rebuilt engine doesn't sound too bad.
