Just built a F-250...crew cab short bed diesel, 4x4 and 3.55 gears with the E locker. Before even getting to add any options, the total was already $54,670. Ouch.

I built one last night... Got an heart attack...

66 800$ CAD + tx (5% and 7.5%) + 7.99% ARP (interest rate)

Crew cab, diesel, FX4, E locker, ...

For an 2010 it would be 56 500$ for the same thing minus E locker.

I hear y'all. Mine came in at over 62K for a KR 4x4 diesel. They are sweet trucks though.

BTW...for all of those more versed in the Super Duty, why is the 3.55 e locker so much more than the 3.18 (I think) option?

The 3.55s gets you 20s vs the 18s with the 3.31s.

The price of a similar truck to mine went up ~$1k, but with the 6.2L it loses 2k lbs of towing. It seems Ford might be pushing that new diesel by making the gap between the gas truck and diesel trucks tow rating larger.

With 70% of Super Duty sales being diesel anyway, they didn't have to push too hard. I'm sure the profit margin on the diesel is higher anyway, especially with Ford building the new engine themselves.

Is it only 70%? That seems kinda low.

Anyway, I'd bet that it's a higher percentage for Dodge and GM.

And with higher profit margins on the diesel, that gives them more reason to push them.
