tryin to find a front hitch, winch cradel for a 17,500

Recon makes the brute force 17500 and it sells for about a grand or more cheaper than a Warn 16.5 ti

either way, it seems cradels and front hitches are rated for no bigger than a 9000ob winch, which wont pull my truck.

anyone know where i can find a front reciever and cradel for a big winch

You just need to go to a custom fab shop and get them to make you something.

I think for that big a winch you are going to need to do a winch bumper because there is not enough meat on the frame for a hitch style winch cradle to mount to. ARB make a nice one and so does Warn it will look like the one that Freeky has on the front of his truck.

I know I have been thiking about an ARB or Warn my self for some extra front end protection and I was thinking of seeing what one of the local Fab shops could build me. I am willing to bet that if you have one built or build it your self you could get it done cheaper.

I know that it's not really big enough, but I am probably going to buy a 12,000 lb Smittybilt winch. The 16.5 is over $1700 and the Smittybilt XRC-12 is only $499. I should have it within the week.

You are right the rule of thumb with winches is that you want it to pull twice the weight of the vehicle.

I don't plan to ever have to pull myself out. If I do, I will use a ****** block to double the pulling force.
