As for mods, I plan on sending in my Gryphon back to Paul at PHP to make it work for the diesel-used from my 05 f150 5.4. Im curious to know what kind of power gains ill see with just the canned tunes.

You can gain up to 275whp i think with canned tunes and dpf delete.

The canned tunes add around 80HP and 150 ft-lb torque. The Spartan Tune and DPF delete can add up to 310 HP and brings torque up over 1000. Just be aware that canned tunes with the DPF still in place will cause the truck to go into regen more often.

I just sent in my Gryphon to PHP to be reprogrammed for the 6.4 diesel. $200 to be programmed with 4 canned tunes and the new pod to fit the truck.
Im a little leary of the dpf delete. From what I understand the DPF reburns the diesel fuel to help with emissions? Does this affect those of us with emissions testing?
And not that I plan on doing it all the time but running that #4 tune and gaining 160whp and 250 wtq. do I need to worry about my drivetrain? How strong are these transmissions?

If you dont follow thses steps you will air lock the fuel system and you will need to get it bled at your dealer$$$.

you may have already known this, just a heads up.
Ok, so even after you told me this, I still air-locked the fuel system. It would not start. I ended up removing the schrader valve (with gray cap) from the top of the fuel cooler and then I cycled the key until clear diesel squirted out. I put the schrader valve back on, and the truck started right up.

You got lucky haha. Bleeding the low pressure side like that does work sometimes. It when to much air gets locked in the high pressure side that really sucks!

I'm just curious...how much would it have cost if too much air had gotten locked in the high pressure side and I had to take it to the dealership?

i think you should buy the truck

I just traded in my 2004 Dodge 1500 Hemi for a 2008 f350 Lariat,
I've had my Ford for about 6 weeks now, and I can tell you I LOVE MY FORD!
i purchased my Ford from a Mazda dealer here in British Columbia, and I can tell you they were awesome at the Mazda dealer.

I live in Canada, so my prices may seem high to you. the Ford f350 on 6.4l diesel 4x4 had a window price of $43,999., but on sale for $39,999.
my trade in was only worth about $12 to $14,000 trade in. I PAYED $21,000 Difference. my Ford has 65,000k, thats about 40,000 miles.
realistically I payed $33,000 to $34,000 Canadian

Mazda offered my an extended warranty, but I declined, there are third party companies offering warranties as well, but I would make sure that the repair shops in your area have a good relationship with the warranty company.
I want to address the fuel concerns as you may have heard some pretty far fetched stories, I haven't towed my 5th wheel with it yet, so my mileage is to and from work, work is about 55 kilometers (30 miles) return per day.
my fill ups are about 120 liters (31.7 us gallons), (26.4 imperial). I'm getting 900 km (559miles) per fill up and expect to get more on the open hwy. Much better than my old Hemi, and I expect even better than the Hemi when I compare towing specs.your gallons are smaller than ours in Canada, that's why i included litres/imperial/ and us gallons.

my calculations say 17.6 miles to your US gallons

currently I'm looking at the procedures of performing my own oil changes, as diesel is much more for oil changes. I have heard it is recommended to use only ford parts.
HOPE THIS HELPS?, my figures are accurate.
