Looking at getting a 2008 F250. advice?

So I have been an F150 owner since 1999. I have a 2005 now but I just got a large trailer this weekend so I am looking at F250s. The one I think I want to get is a used 2008 F250 FX4 6.4L Turbo Diesel short bed.
Is the 2008 a good truck?

Any problems with the 2008?

If the 2008 does not work out what years should I look for or avoid?

Thanks for any expert advice from F250 owners.

The 08's dont have any major issues that can't be fixed with factory recalls or a bump up in quality with an aftermarket manufacturer. the 08's and up ARE equipped with a DPF and will get misserable fuel economy without removal of said DPF and a good tune. If you're after tons of fuel economy you might consider a later model 6.0

^^^x2 Exactly what he said. These trucks are awesome and the aftermarket for them is huge, so the sky is the limit as far as making them better!

Nice looking truck you will enjoy the diesel towing your trailer. I know I like towing mine a lot better than towing with a gas truck.

Nice looking trucks but I wouldn't touch that 6.4 with a ten foot pole. My brother works at a ford dealer and after seeing some of the comebacks on those engines and the fact that you have to take the cab off to do pretty much anything, hell no.

The 6.4 is a hell of a lot better than the 6.0 other than the bad fuel mileage.

Yeah the dealer put a 6" on with 37s. So far I love the truck. We had to pick it up 4 hours away from our home so the drive home gave me a chance to see how it travels. It is a little bouncy with no weight in it but handles much better and not as bouncy as my F150 with a 6" lift and 35s.

Gas milage is so far better then my F150 and the only complaint I have so far is the turning radius but I expected that. I will be much happier pulling our new trailer with this.

Yes the turning radius takes a little bit of getting used to especially in a crowded parking lot trying to get in and out of parking spaces. That truck will really shine towing your trailer. My brother in law switched from an 06 Silverado HD with the 6.0 gas to a 09 Sierra HD with the DMax and he says its night and day and he has a similar trailer to yours.
