Where are you getting your fuel? If you're buying it at little out of the way stations instead of at larger stations that have higher fuel turnover then you're probably getting stale fuel. You are for sure getting ultra low sulfur fuel too? Pretty much all stations should have it, but every now and then I still come across a station with low sulfur fuel.

Yeah, expect it. My 2008 F-350 with 3.55's ran great with about 17 to 18mpg when new. I drove it like an old lady to keep it there. Regens were about every other tank. Then it hit. Regens started to become more frequent until I hit one every 250-300 miles and the mpg went to 13 at best. I really loved the 6.4L except for the mileage. IF I could have kept it as a personal truck for weekend warrior work I'd have done the Spartan tune and dfp mod. But as a daily driver I couldn't. So, the cure for 13mpg was easy. A nice 2010 F-150 Supercrew. Thought I'd never look back. Well... until the darn 2011 Superduty came out. IF, and I said IF this new rig hits the low 20's for mpg's, I might consider a smoker again. After all, that is in my blood. If the 6.7L can't do it, I may consider a 6.2L, but only if it can make some reasonable numbers.

If you're going into regen every tank of gas, that's pretty normal actually. Ours will regen every tank to tank and a half.

From what I've knoticed, the people who complain about fuel mileage and trucks are usually the ones who really don't need them. So, switch to a car or quit 'yer *****in.

You're talking about switching back and forth between brand new trucks and you're complaining about fuel mileage...

I agree...and i don't even need a truck. I do, however, understand that it is expensive to buy and own a diesel. That's why you see so few of them just being used as daily drivers. I look at it this way. I could have bought a luxury car or a sports car for what I paid for my truck. People drive luxury cars as status symbols. To me, a nice truck is a status symbol. I don't care that most people don't realize how expensive they are. The ones who know are the only ones that matter any way!
