My New Used 2001 F250 Diesel

2001 F250 4x4
7.3L Diesel
Manual transmission (5 + Low)
Manual transfer case
Manual locking hubs
3.73 differential

less than 120,000 miles

I can't believe how fast this thing accelerates from 60 mph to 80 mph in fifth gear.

Wow, great find there! Truck looks clean that is super low miles for a 7.3. And the manual transmission ... very nice.

Just need to swap on some tow mirrors and she's set. Congrats on the new-to-you truck.

Sounds like he's happy with its performance. But I agree, custom tuning is a great mod on any truck.

Nice find! Needs some bigger tires, tint, and tow mirrors and you'll be set! And let's not forget that Bill @ PHP makes some wonderful custom tunes for the 7.3.

That's funny, before I came to check the forums right now I was looking up the price on the tow mirrors. Just wondering if the heated mirrors will work since they come with a retangle to round adaptor.

Tire - How big without a lift nor wheel well mod? The butt-head at the used car dealership had replaced the bald tires with Sailun Terramax H/T 235/85-R16's. Their sidewalls are utter garbage and barely tolerable near max inflation pressures. Grrr. Hopefully the local tire stores will buy them for at least $20 a piece since they only have 300 miles on 'em.

Tune - If anything, I'll go for propane/cng and avoid any tuning. I'm probably on the extreme "light load" end of users of this size of truck. Got the diesel so I could use "alternative fuels".

You put propane on that sucker and you'll see what the inside of the motor looks like reaaaaaaaal quick. There's a reason why hardly anybody makes propane systems anymore...

Largest tire you can fit on the stock rims is 285/75/16. Your rims are too narrow for anything wider.

The heated mirrors will work just fine, but you'll have to wire up the heat yourself which is no big deal.

Nope, not at all, although I've never heard of a 285/27...

I wouldn't run it, and neither would most others. If you dad really wants to make some serious power, then he needs to look into custom tuners.
