4.6 150 vs. 5.4 250

All Ive heard about 5.4 F250s is that they're dogs. People say the same about 4.6 half tons but i'm pretty alright with how my truck moves. Anyone know how an '02-'03 5.4 4x4 reg. cab 250 with 4.10 gears (were 4.10s an option on these trucks?) compares to an '01 auto 4.6 half ton 2wd with 3.55 gear? Also rc/lb. Is one significantly more underpowered than the other? I'm not looking for a race truck; I just want to know if it can get out of its own way as good as my truck can.

The 3v 4.6L in the F150 has a lot more power than the 5.4L F250.

a reg cab 250 with a 5.4 and 4.10 gears will move better then a 4.6 f150 my friends have the same setup and they are not bad at all. It will defiantly tow better hands down.

It really depends on how much each weighs. I know the F250's are pretty damn heavy and 2 valve 5.4's aren't the worlds best at moving an F150.

33's wouldnt affect it much to make it noticable I believe stocks measure at 31.3 or around there. It would still be ahead of the 4.6

Unloaded they're not bad. We have one at work, it's an 05 4x4. Loaded is another story. They'll get the job done, but not fast.
