Thumbs up 2011 f250

My father-in-law just got a new 2011 F250 6.7L 4dr Lariat and WOW is it nice!!! He was a Chevy man and had an '03 2500 Duramax up until 2 weeks ago when he got in a head-on accident and it was totaled. (walked away fine) He looked at the new Chevy 2500 and the F250 and liked the F250 better. I also test drove a 2011 F250 4dr XLT 6.2L last week and liked it a lot. Hope to upgrade to the 250 with a 6.2L from my '05 150 with a 5.4L soon. Took it for a ride and watched the MPG and it showed 10-11 driving in town and 16-17 cruising at 60 mph. Anyone else got any experience?

I haven't rode in a 2011 yet but I can tell you that I bought a 2008 F250 with the 6.4L and on the way home from GA I was running about 60-65 and the truck said it was getting 19-20MPG...

I drove it around all weekend to make sure everything was working and I was getting 16-17MPG in the city.

Mine shows 14-15 all the time. 15.5 on just hwy cruising. But, if the article from a previous post is correct, https://www.f150online.com/forums/f-...shoot-out.html, this is padded by 1 mpg or so.

ommegang have you hand calced it with fuel used vs miles drivin? What gears do you have?

The 250 tested had 4.30 gears. Good for towing not so good for MPG.

I will get a 3.73 rearend. To be honest I dont need a 250 but for 3k more than a 150 why would I not get a 250? More room, better looking truck IMO and more beef around my family.

3:73 gears. No hand calcs, just the dash readout. I prefer to the 250 also, just not the ride. I seen chevy's commercial with hydraulic shocks. Maybe I can get some retrofitted once Ford comes out with some. I hear the 2011Lariat 150 has the option of a 6.2L. Probabally the same price as a 250 though.

The unloaded ride. The *** end kicks out a dag over bumps. Just part of owning a SD.
